Can a creative Studio build unlock a special reward?
Get creative. Each month, we randomly choose special combinations of models, shell colors, and button colors. Customers who order a matching customization will be eligible for a special free gift or a complimentary upgrade of their choice.
The reward accompanies a qualifying handheld purchase. Available gifts and upgrades will be confirmed for that month’s reward. Soft launch submissions do not place an order or reserve stock; rewards apply when custom orders go live.
Are these new consoles?
These are pre-owned PSP systems. Refurbishment, replacement shell, and included accessories are described in each listing.
What’s the difference between your PSP models?
We source original PSP hardware, assess each system, and choose the parts and upgrades that bring it to our Legacy Handhelds standard. Every build is cleaned, serviced, and individually tested for consistent quality and playability.
Our PSP-1000 builds receive the same care and attention as the 2000 and 3000. Laminated screen upgrades can be specified for PSP-1000 and PSP-3000 builds, depending on your chosen configuration. Every PSP-2000 we offer comes fitted in a PSP-3000-style body.

How do I choose a build?
Choose an available model, shell, buttons, and optional upgrades in the builder. Each priced choice appears in the itemized total. The PSP and its selected components stay linked as one build in your cart.
When will my order ship?
Ready-to-ship systems follow the timeframe on their listing. Custom builds take approximately 4–6 weeks for assembly, testing, and shipment. Orders are built in the order received.
Are the images of the exact console?
Any image marked as a reference is a temporary stock image or illustrative color mockup, not a photograph of the exact item for sale. Check the individual listing for unit-specific photos.
Can I come back for upgrades later?
Yes. The Legacy Promise follows your registered unit beyond its warranty and to its next owner. Supply a compatible part of your own, or have us supply it at our landed cost with no parts markup. You pay for any parts we supply, installation labor, and shipping. We confirm compatibility, availability, and the quote before work begins. This service does not restart your unit’s existing warranty.

What am I purchasing with a custom order?
Your order is for the completed Legacy Handhelds customized and refurbished system described in your order. It is not a donor console or a modification service for customer-owned hardware. Parts removed or replaced during refurbishment and customization are not included with the finished system and remain Legacy Handhelds inventory.
Can I change my custom build after paying?
Request configuration changes within 24 hours of payment. Approved changes that increase the price require payment of the difference; approved changes that reduce the price receive a refund of the difference. After 24 hours, your purchased configuration is locked so parts purchasing and production can proceed.
Can I cancel before my order ships?
Contact us within 24 hours of payment for cancellation during the free cancellation window. After that window, but before carrier handoff, we will stop fulfillment and process the applicable refund less the $40 customization-restoration fee. We will not ship an order solely to make you return it.
What happens if I request a return after shipment?
The 14-day return window begins when your finished handheld is delivered. Once an order has been handed to the carrier, it must be received and returned under the return process. We issue an eligible refund after Legacy Handhelds physically receives the returned handheld and verifies the unit and its condition, less the applicable $40 customization-restoration fee. Existing return-policy conditions and workmanship or error exceptions still apply.
